Today, something really cool happened - Michael Jordan, Marc Benioff and Redpoint Ventures invested $20M in the company I work at. Which is neat for me and all, but why should you care?
Because at one point, there's a really good chance, I was in a similar place or situation to where you are now.
Back in 2012, I was working as a digital coordinator at JTB in Sydney. The job paid peanuts - AUD$48k PA (which was more than I made as a teacher before that) and I knew I could make more working elsewhere.
But I chose that role for a very specific reason: I knew I'd have my nights and weekends to work on startups. Every day, when work finished I'd hustle from Town Hall to Fishburners in Ultimo.
